If you are looking for employment, you might try relocating to one of these U.S. cities. The following cities made it through the recession, and have shown promise for the future.

Signs of economic growth can be seen in:

1) Austin, Texas

Texas was one of the best states to live in throughout the recession. The effects of the economic meltdown were experienced far less in this state. Job growth had them ranked at number one during the toughest times of the Recession, from 2007 to 2009. The city is predicted to do even better this year.

2) Minneapolis

If you don't mind a colder climate, Minneapolis is listed as one of the most promising U.S. economies. The city has shown promise in the job creation sector, and has a stable housing market. This means great things for homeowners. If you are looking to buy a cheap home, this news might not be as promising.

3) Washington D.C.

Our nation's capital is showing progress. The government has begun hiring again, which is great news to residents. Most of the city's employment comes from government jobs. Home prices are also stabilizing, which is good news for homeowners and for the economy in general.

4) Denver

A great town for young professionals, Denver is another promising U.S. city. Besides a fun downtown area and urban culture, Denver is showing great economic progress with a stable housing marketing and promising job growth forecast.

5) Los Angeles

Although California's budget crisis is a major issue right now for the state, Los Angeles still ranks high on the list of promising U.S. cities. Residents can look ahead with relief with a positive job growth forecast set for next year. The city's large metropolitan areas have a high GDP, which means good things for residents.
